Oven Cooked Corn on the Cob

I saw some fresh corn the other day at the supermarket and they were just $1 each.  Thought I’d grab some and have them as a side dish for our roast beef.  I would have loved to roast it on the barbecue but I always leave the operation (and the cleaning) of the outdoor grill to my husband.  I always end up either steaming or boiling corns but this time I decided to cook them in the oven. Yum.

What you need:

fresh corn cobs, in husks

butter (you could use garlic butter if you want)

What you need to do:

Preheat oven to 200 deg C.

Take out the silk from the top of each corn (they are the ones that look like hair); if you don’t take them out, it would make your oven smoke.  Cut the top (and this is optional) just to make them neat looking.

Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes.  Let cool.  Pull down the husks and use them as handles when eating the corn.  While warm, smear the corn with butter and sprinkle salt.

Serve as a siding or just by themselves.  Enjoy!
