Easy Barbecued Pork Chops

Today’s news that caught my eye:

10 year old girl catches baby thrown from a burning home.

The other news aren’t as interesting for me today, or they are too scary for me to dwell on.

ANYWAY, I am posting one of my recipes that my husband loves.  It is easy to make and it’s nice to have for dinner specially when you’re having it together as a family 🙂



 1 cup water

¾ cup tomato sauce (or ketchup!)

2 teaspoons vinegar

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

3 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon butter

about 6 pieces pork chops, seasoned with salt and pepper

1 small onion, chopped

extra 2 tablespoons water


In a bowl, mix first 5 ingredients and set aside.

In a large pan, melt butter.  Sear pork chops.  Remove chops from skillet and set aside.  During searing, add some more butter if necessary.

In pork cooking fat, sauté onion.  Deglaze with the extra 2 tablespoons water (that means to just add the water to the pan to loosen the thickened residues).  Fold in sauce.

Place pork chops in sauce.  Bring to a boil.  Cover and over low heat, cook for about 1-2 hours or  until the pork chops have reached your desired tenderness, and the sauce has thickened.

Serve with mash and salad, or steamed rice.  And maybe a can of Coke on the side lol.  Be ready for seconds.

Note:  If you like lots of sauce, double the sauce portions.
